Can you tell I'm in a nostalgic mood? I'm old enough to remember when the original What If? series first came out. One of my favorite stories was What if Thor was a woman? It was awesome! Here's my homage to those halcyon days.
You know, seeing this, and really digging the female Thor from Avengers Next, and Marvel's struggle to keep a Thor regular afloat, it occurs to me, they really need to switch the gender on the character, I think that would help!
That's just a scary idea. The power of a god that can level mountains in a being that goes through pms.....not to mention the anger of being scorned.
What was that movie that was released about a superhero girl and a regular guy going through a breakup. I know, goofy idea for a movie, didn't see it but man....the power of Thor in that situation. That'd be one screwed dude. She send lightening bolts directed at the family jewels. Oh man....makes me shiver.
Man, it's just what the franchise needs! Think about the buzz over Beta-Ray Bill. Someone else commented about how it would shake up the world of Thor. Don't get me wrong, I think the current run by JMS is some of the best Thor since Simonson. I just like the idea of a thunder goddess...
Thanks so much! Means a lot to me--I've been a fan since I first saw your work.
Anything John Buscema drew in the 70s/80s became a favorite of mine--so his run on Thor made me a fan of all things Asgardian. My interest has waned from time to time, but there have been some phenomenal creative teams on the book.
C'mon now--you know you want to draw your own Thordis... I know I'd like to see it!
Dude, I gotta admit my embarrassment. I got you confused with another deviant I've corresponded with. Me am big dummy--brain fuzzy from lack of sleep. Having said that--you do have a great gallery, and I'm watching you closely to make sure you draw EVERY DAY!
Thanks Homie! Yah, it was a blast. All the old What If? stories were cool. Another classic was "What if Conan was trapped in the present" or some such similar title. Was waaay cool. Ah, for the 70s comics...
