Monsters VS Aliens

Mon Apr 6, 2009, 5:20 AM
If you haven't seen Monsters VS Aliens yet...

Go. Now. I mean it. The designs are great, the story is a lot of fun, and the dialog is hilarious. C'mon, Colbert plays the president--that alone is worth the price of admission. Also, pay the extra money for 3D--it's really worth it.

I've been bemoaning the death of the 2D animated form since Lilo and Stitch left the theaters (such a wonderful movie). I've been screaming about the cold, stiff figures of 3D, and how the movies simply don't emote like 2D. I started to come around with The Incredibles, and I'm ga-ga over M VS A. Don't get me wrong, I don't think contemporary CGI animations can ever compare to classics like Sleeping Beauty--I don't think they can have the purity of design. However, the form is really coming into its own as a truly beautiful method of expression and storytelling.

I liked it so much that I picked-up the "Making Of" book, which is really nice. Not the creative multimedia experience that the "Open Season" book was, but it's a great addition to the library.

Yo Jerry!

Just wanted to say great stuff and wondering where that drawing of identical twin sisters in glasses and matching turtleneck sweater dresses are? Hehehe

Also took your advice, and the pages of my webcomic are slowly moving along. Hope to see you again at another Baltimore(?) Con, and chat some more!

Hey bro--how you been? I did one of those drawings for you, yah? If so, send me a scan, so I can maybe take a stab at coloring it up and putting it up here.

Do you already have your webcomic cruising along? I'll check your page to see if you have a link to an official page...

See you at Baltimore!

Hiyas Jer!

You haven't done that one yet, tho did mention doing a drawing up (tho the twin devil girls are close), last time I saw you LOL!

As for the webcomic, check out [link] (ZomBoy) which has been slow, as well as had a major DA art rush too ;)

Also we should do an art exchange if you have the time!
